102. Tom and “Lefty” O’Doul
Not only was “Lefty” O’Doul from San Francisco, but also he was a fantastic Phillie! So, for my 102nd video, I read a poem about Lefty to his cousin, Tom. Thanks to John Phillips for filming the poem.
San Francisco Giants
Not only was “Lefty” O’Doul from San Francisco, but also he was a fantastic Phillie! So, for my 102nd video, I read a poem about Lefty to his cousin, Tom. Thanks to John Phillips for filming the poem.
My 197th video features my “Beat L.A.” poem along with a question to author Joe Konte!
Joe Konte wrote a baseball book entitled, The Rivalry Heard ‘Round the World: The Dodgers-Giants Feud from Coast to Coast. Therefore, for my 196th video, he discusses the long rivalry between the Giants and Dodgers.
Mike Krukow pitched for the Cubs, Phillies, and Giants! Currently, he is an amazing Giants’ broadcaster. Therefore, my 105th video features him.
There were some awesome public address announcers. My favorite one was the Philadelphia 76ers’ Dave Zinkoff. His introduction of Julius Erving was specatacular! Also, an outstanding Oakland Athletics’ public address announcer was Roy Steele.
Currently, there are three amazing public address announcers. In Philadelphia, the fabulous Flyers feature Lou Nolan, and the Eagles & Phillies feature Dan Baker. Finally, a spectacular San Francisco Giants’ public address announcer is Renel Brooks-Moon.
So, my 100th video features Renel Brooks-Moon! Thanks to Derek Mirabueno for filming the question.
In the 2002 World Series, the Anaheim Angels defeated the San Francisco Giants in seven games. The Giants’ manager was Dusty Baker, and his son, Darren, was a bat boy. In the seventh inning of Game Five, J.T. Snow prevented a collision at home plate by picking up Darren. Therefore, my twenty-ninth video features J.T. Snow. He was a fantastic first baseman! Thanks to Mark Kelley for filming the poem.
